FINDING TRUTH Poems and Observations

There are no rehearsals

     In living,

My candle burns at both its end

It will not last the night

    But all my foes

        and all my friends

it burns a lovely light…

___________

Procrastination

Is the pallbearer

of opportunity.

___________

Hold dearly to your dreams

for within their reality

lies mans greatest hope.

____________

Timid are those

who attempt only

that which they know

they can achieve.

____________

If I were to take the time

to explain

      the whys

           and wherefores

of my convictions and dreams,

defending the pattern of my life

       I would be left

with no time to live it.

____________

Desperation gives birth

to ludicrous optimism.

____________

My friend in manila

assures me, that a moth

         is good luck

i'm aware of rabbit's feet

         but a moth?

I need luck badly

         and so I believe.

____________

if i were to add up

all the things throughout my life

that I do repeatedly

good, bad or indifferent...

i would have to say that love

heads the list.

____________

i have loved deeply at times

         and have known pain

to an even greater depth.

one day, i hope to know love

         to a greater degree than

                 any pain i have known.

____________

my goal in life

is to have my life touch other lives

to make an effect on someone

or something

to prove to myself

that i did more than merely exist

to have had a purpose

to reach even one person to whom

it  will have mattered

that i even lived at all

if only

to have passed through

and touched their lives.
